Tom Laidlaw's Generic Thank you page
| Since I first took on the job of webmaster for the Northwest Chapter
of OCTA, I have made many web pages promoting OCTA and it members. The Internet
and e-mail are like a magic kingdom to me. It makes it possible for a man
in Vancouver, WA to work with people in Hawaii, Laramie, WY, Wamego, KS,
and Independence, MO to create a site which then is posted to a computer
in Delaware.
But none of the websites would be possible without the help of many friends, some who I have never met in person. I try to include copyrights for pictures and other thank yous within each website, but there is a large group who are constantly helping, and feeding me grist for my cybermill. So I want to give a big Thank You! to the following: |
Jim Tompkins (Oregon Jim) - friend and mentor, always willing to find errors of fact or typewriter and generous in sharing his vast historical knowledge, for the NW OCTA Website
Lesley Wischmann of OCTA, who is constantly helping and encouraging me.
Gail Carbiener - Guiding spirit of OCTA's Online Bookstore
Don Popejoy - NW OCTA's reigning Lewis & Clark historian
Dave Welch - President of OCTA, an excellent hands-off manager
J. R. Tompkins (California Jim) - a professional photographer with his own touring slide show, yet he has generously shared photos with me and often responds to generic call for pictures
Chuck Hornbuckle - a trailmarking buddy, he has shared GPS readings and many trail pictures
Lowell Tiller - for sharing his photos of work on Oregon's Historic Markers
Jim Renner - made possible the Oregon Trail Kiosk tour by giving me copies of the text of 120 interpretive panels. He also made me the recipient of the Oregon Trail Coordinating Council's final report.
Dick Ackerman - for info and pictures of the Oregon Historic Marker Committee restoration program
Vic Bolon - thanks for the greatest Oregon Trail picture ever.
